For the commemorative book celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Olga Roriz Dance Company, we drew inspiration from the notebooks Olga uses for her notes, replicating their format and creating a deeply personal feel.
The book was released with three variations of covers, each featuring different photographs. This choice not only provided variety but also symbolized the diverse and dynamic nature of the dance company’s history. The cover photos were carefully selected for their emotional impact and relevance, and the title letters were embossed to add a tactile quality.
Inside, we chose silver text on a black background. This colour scheme also made the text stand out, making it readable and visually compelling.
The layout was designed to give ample space for the photographs to shine. These images, capturing the essence of the dance company’s performances, were given prominence, allowing readers to immerse themselves in the visual journey of the company’s 25-year history.
Furthermore, the book featured triptychs, enhancing the tactile experience. These multi-panelled spreads provided a sense of unfolding, echoing movement. They also allowed for a more in-depth exploration of themes and performances, adding layers to the book’s narrative.
