An intensive lab of editing, curation and production for designers, artists, photographers and illustrators. in this third-level workshop, participants develop a publication from scratch — concept, editing, layout, colour choices, technical decisions and final production. beyond the printed object, we reflect on what it means to edit in risograph, where limitations become visual language. Throughout the workshop, techniques such as overprinting, trapping, bitmap and complex colour separations will be explored. Each participant will develop an editorial project with technical and creative guidance. This workshop is intended for those with some prior experience in risograph who wish to deepen their practice as an editorial tool. Each participant will leave with a small edition of their project.

An intermediate Workshop for those who already print and understand the technique, its limitations and strengths. we’ll learn how to print in faux CMYK — working within both illustrative and photographic contexts. Over the course of 4 hours, we’ll present and analyse a wide collection of risograph printed materials, teach how to prepare images for print and the corresponding final artwork. Together, we’ll print a sample to help you understand the process. Each participant will receive 10 A3 prints, in four colours, to be collected at our studio on a date to be arranged — along with the example we’ll print together.
