For the exhibition Rosa Cravo – Mãos, Cabeça, Coração, we developed the entire visual system: from the graphic identity and exhibition design to the editorial conception and production of three distinct books, each dedicated to one of the collaborations between artisans and designers. This was a particularly meaningful project for us, not only due to its visual and curatorial scope but above all because of the opportunity to contribute to a living exchange between traditional practices and contemporary languages.
Each publication was designed as an autonomous object, with its own typography, visual rhythm and editorial voice, reflecting the uniqueness of each collaboration. From the dense and tactile strength of pottery to the delicate rhythm of thread embroidery, and the expressive graphic quality of felt appliqué, we sought to honour the materials and voices involved. At the same time, we designed a visual system that ensures cohesion across the three books, allowing each to grow with consistency and character.
The overall visual identity of the exhibition follows the same logic. It respects the specificities of each craft tradition and the human encounters they give rise to, while building a graphic presence that is clear, warm and engaging. The dialogue between past and present, between experienced hands and emerging voices, formed the foundation of our approach. Everything was developed with attention to detail, material care and, above all, with immense joy in making books and telling visual stories that endure through time.
This is a project supported by the Direção Geral das Artes.
