“Carminho at Electrical Audio” stands as a remarkable fusion between Fado and the distinguished production approach of the renowned Steve Albini, recorded at his legendary Chicago studio in the autumn of 2023. This sonic collaboration not only highlights the expressive depth of Carminho but also brings forth new tonal landscapes that broaden the dialogue between the heritage of Fado and the more contemporary textures of American independent rock.
Our studio’s contribution to this project lies in the conception and production of a single-sheet zine, meticulously designed and printed in risograph, intended to accompany a limited run of the vinyl editions. Serving as both a visual narrative and a tactile artifact this is a testament to our appreciation for Albini’s legacy and our longstanding respect for Carminho. By materializing the auditory experience in a tangible form, the zine seeks to extend the resonance of the recording, offering a graphic testimony to the synergy between tradition and innovation, between Carminho’s voice and Albini’s aesthetic vision.
